I’m looking for music to the intro of a ska song: Riding the Fourth Wave by Catch 22. It opens with a lovely whistly sounding solo that I want to play, except I can’t quite pick it up by ear and the only music I’ve found online is guitar tablature. Can anyone help me out with this?
flute intro picked out on guitar is:-
Part 1
E--------------------------------------------------------------
B--------------------------------------------------------------
G–9-999-7–9-9-99-11-12-11-9-999-7-------9-9-7-7-6-6-8-9-10—
D----------9------------------------9-7-9–9—9—7-----------
A--------------------------------------------------------------
E--------------------------------------------------------------
E--------------------------------------------------------------
B--------------------------------------------------------------
G–9-999-7-----------------------------------------------------
D---------9-7-9------------------------------------------------
A--------------------------------------------------------------
E--------------------------------------------------------------
If anyone has time to decipher this…been too long a day.
Trisha
Thanks!
Too bad I have no idea how to decipher that…
Not entirely sure about it due to the chords that are shown on the guitar part (I don’t know the song or I would be able to help more). Just guessing here on what the notes are from the tab and attempting to count up the frets chromatically. I’ll type in the notes, since I don’t have any notation programs. (I’m just using the G line notes and putting the D line notes in parentheses).
E, E, E, E, D (B), E, E, E, E, Fsharp, G, Fsharp, E (B), E (A), E (B), E (B), D (B), (B), E (A), E, D,D, Csharp, Csharp, Eflat, E, F, E, E, E, E (B), D (A), (B).
Maybe having the note names will help some. Some of the notes in parentheses may actually be part of the melody. Just wanted to let you know.
Thanks, I think that might help. ![]()
It looks familiar from what I’ve been able to pick out on my own, at least.
