Does anybody know what sets of tunes feature as favourites at hammy hamilton’s flute workshop in balleyvourney? Is anybody going to the 2014 flute workshop run by hammy? Has anyone been before? And what sets were popular? Regards jlpsix

i recommend the woodcock jig, the kerfunten jig, and sara’s reel

Pleased that folk are attending and that it’s good. I like star of Munster, morning dew and drowsy Maggie as a set. Gravel walks and jenny’s chickens is fun. Jlp six

If I recall correctly, sets from Conal’s two CDs were popular…

I’ll be making the pilgrimage again. Since 2 of this year’s tutors are Harry Bradley and Michael Clarkson, it’s a fair bet that more than a few “Northern” tunes will be played, which suits me fine.
If you haven’t got this already, I recommend it :

This may have been posted here before elsewhere, but thanks to John Crawford, who comes to my flute class, for sending me this link, which is well worth pursuing. Messrs Bradley and Clarkson are involved , so you might get an idea of some tunes which might turn up from these short clips.

Thanks for your kind suggestions. I can’t seem to get chrome to open the midis and the bbc clips are not available to me at present for some strange reason. Maybe wifi related. I will try again. I will look for apple software that can open midis. Thanks jlpsix

Listened to some of Harry’s stuff on YouTube. Very good! Not tunes I’m used to but excellent! I will try to find time to give some of them a dressing down. Regards jlpsix
