I have a friend who may be moving to LaCrosse Wisconsin or Winona Minnesota, do you know of any Irish Sessions there?
If so any idea what instruments/level?

In another thread I asked about sessions in the general vicinity of Nashua, NH and didn’t get any response, either. (You may have gotten replies via email that I don’t know about.) This got me to thinking that it would be nice to have a searchable list of sessions somewhere. But then I thought that it would probably become hopelessly out of date in relatively short order. But then I thought that maybe I don’t know diddly about sessions and that maybe they are pretty stable and long-lived as a rule. And, THEN I thought that, well, maybe a session list or database might work after all. So, I’d like to hijack this thread and turn it into a general discussion of how we might go about making session information generally available, and how we would ensure that the information is accurate and current. I’ll start by asking how long the sessions you know about have been ‘in session’?

There was a thread a few weeks back about sessions in Texas. Some urls were posted that are lists of sessions.
There are a couple of session websites that I go to occasionally. They have seemed fairly up-to-date each time I’ve checked.

As for session stability, the houston sessions (weds and sunday) have been fairly stable for years (the weds session is over 20 years strong)
The Galveston session, I hear, is dwindling away.
Hello,There is a session in LaCrosse every wednesday night around 8:00.I would call it an intermediate session.It is at Houghtons pub on Jackson st.Just ask when you get to town,someone will give you directions,love to see you there.The only rules we have is,please don’t play if you don’t know the tune,and also there is no bones playing allowed.It is a very friendly and fun session.Hope to see you there.
Thanks Tom for the info. I will pass it along to my friend. She may be moving down there permantly at some point, but will definitely get down for a visit within the next few months. If you, or anyone, ever comes this far North (Winnipeg - only a couple hours north of Grand Forks ND) give me a shout - we have some great sessions here!
