Session and memory

Last nights session with Larry Nugent was kinda cool. :sunglasses: He always eggs Tom Dayhill into singing some ballad or rant et. all.
The Spanish Lady was fun.

Seeing Larry always reminds me of THE most fantastic live performance I have ever been witness to.

A few years back Larry, Pat Broaders - bahdran, and Tim McGraw - Guitar, jelled in the most fantastic way on the second night of the Pipers Chair at Kieran’s. The craic was ninety and the nyaah (nyagh, nyaw oh I can’t remember how to spell it) was through the roof. :boggle: It was stuff you will never see recorded.

Always support live performances of ITM when they come to your town. This kind of stuff needs to be preserved.

'Twas a good session indeed. Larry’s just a stitch, esp. when he goes all gnarly on a tune trying to crack the piper up. The only downside is how sloggy my playing sounds when he’s on hand.

However, Baglady, I have to say that when I first read the title of this thread, I though it would be about memorizing tunes due to attending sessions! Now I see it’s about namedropping and nostalgia. Tsk, tsk.

Give my regards to Baglord.

You mean I can’t tell stories like seeing Paddy Keenan and Cathal at a after party sitting together playing low D’s and looking like a mirror image because Paddy is left handed…or that Daihi Sproule said my guitar was nice…or what Johnny Doyle told me at my lesson…or that..ouch…ouch…stop that…no

Huf…ugh…aaaargh…ufdah!!!
There. (dusting my hands off)
Sorry about that. I had to stuff myself back into luker mode. I can’t let myself NEAR a keyboard without myself getting completely out of hand.

Can’t I tell how cool it was to be snubbed by Laura Mackenzie at a session?

NO!!! BONK…OUW :boggle:

Sorry again. That whack with a Kerry low D did the job I think.
Return to your homes folks there’s nothing to see here. :admin:

Come on you!!! (Dragging myself by the ear)
Wait till I get you home!!!
:poke:

BL, there’s a song by the Rolling Stones whose title fits the case, and while appropriate, is inappropriate. So I’ll just shut up.
