Seized tuning slide

I recently bought a used Copeland and the tuning slide is seized…I can’t budge it, It’s a high C and the head
is small and with the wings, hard to grip plus I’m scared I’ll damage it. Any ideas to free it? thanks

Good heavens, it’s an epidemic (of stuck slides and heads in the last few days).

Sorry, don’t know what to suggest except for the latex gloves.

It is always a good idea to “meet your maker”. I would suggest contacting Michael and asking him what you should do. His contact info is in a sticky post at the top of this forum. I like Copeland whistles (and his flutes too). Good stuff!

As an alternative you can do a search of the forum since this is a frequent topic. There’s another post just a couple of posts down from this one regarding another maker’s whistle.

Thanks for the advice! Doc is going to contact Michael Copeland on my behalf. Yes it is a beautful whistle for sure.
