seed catalog season

and oh, am I drooling!

I hate just about everything else about winter except my mail box being stuffed daily with these wonderful wish books.

and oh, I am delivering lots of them.

and oh, I order pretty zinnias every year.

Giant ones.

All red.

Love them.

an oh! I need to get a few delivered to me because I want to plant my heirloom tomatoes soon!

Jack, only red? Why?

Red is the color of fire, heat, energy, blood, anger, sex, and passion.

That, and it’s pretty.

I manage to post twice even now…

Sex has a color? :really:

It is pretty…I just wanted to be nosey

Yes–red.

Yes, you’ve established that. I was just surprised that it wasn’t a different color. I wonder if it might change from person to person. I’m sure it isn’t always.

I picked pink  You can look up what it says if you want

Hey hyldemoer, can you recommend any good catalogs for seeds (to get back on topic…sorry about that!)

smiley face pink?

I’m particularly partial to the hard copy catalogs of Horizon Herbs and Richters.

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned my chicken catalog addiction. That’s not something seasonal though. I can sit and look at pictures of chickens any time of the year.

Perhaps I’ve shared too much.

Now, now, I love all gallinaceous birds, nothing wrong with that. My Ph.D advisor spent most of his life looking for turkey fossil records. I just quail at the thought. No use grousing about it I guess.

Seed catalogs are a dangerous habit for us so we belong to a support group…that shares  Actually we buy together and split packets.
I don’t however share my native seeds from the NC Bot garden, I will give away plants I propogate though, from their seeds.

Yeah, like this one

Well, geeze…you asked :stuck_out_tongue:

do remind me to explain rhetorical to ya some day

I just filled out the stuff for the catalogs today. I think I want to try mushrooms this year.

The magic ones grow wild in the pastures around Tampa, just collect those. :astonished: On the serious side I grow Shitake mushrooms, which apparently I can’t say on this list, on sweet gum Liquidambar styraciflua usually an easy to locate cheap/free wood. What in the world? Why can’t I say shitake? with an ake at the end? :swear:
