Anyone know who’s going to be the heap big special guest at the Seattle Tionol next February?
No, but Kevin Rowsome will be the guest at the next Southern California Tionól which will be held over the weekend of November 21 to 23. That’s the weekend before thanksgiving.

Would like to see what piping tricks K. Rietmann would have up his sleeve this time (I remember the single regulator note slide by a half step or so of a few years back) if he elects to make the trip.

I work on the weekends so attending these things involves mucho $ which I don’t have. Wish I could, you guys put on a great show, I’m sure, and I’m a big fan of boiling heat and cacti…
What in the beejezuz is a “single note regulator slide by a half step or so,” Glandzer? You sure I wasn’t out of tune, or inebriated?
Or did I try and play a slide on the regulators, ala Joe McKenna? Speaking of
inebriation!
All I remember is that you played a long note finishing a tune and on finale played the bottom key note of the bass reg and added bag pressure and the note slid to the half step above. It was way cool. Perhaps we both were “under the influence.”
What do you mena you won’t be here!!! Ben Koehler is coming over specially to give you grief! You know how he is… always on for a good scrap
Pat, do you have a link on your site for this tionol? I might be able to make this one. Any possibility of staying with a fellow piper for the weekend instead of a hotel??

We still have to get the finer details together but the date and guests are set. Kevin Rowsome and Benedict Koehler will be here, so that is amazing. As well as our own reed makers Michael O’Donovan and pipemaker David Coultrup! This is going to be a great event!
The date will be Nov 21, 22 & 23, 2003 and the location will be San Juan Capistrano, California… a great little Spanish town bursting with character and pipers… apparently!
