Seattle beginners session, round 1

Just a quick quick recap from our first go at a Seattle beginners session…

We had four people, all told, with at least 8 or so following the discussion list. Our first session was more of a ‘get to know each other’ than a session. Since we all new different tunes, we each played what we knew, and on occaision there was some overlap in what we knew, but regional differences kicked in a bit to foil that effort. There will certainly be more music as time goes on. The craic was good despite the lack of common tunes, and I only expect it to get better from here.

For anyone that’s interested, but didn’t get in on the first go around, there’s more info at http://session.bardicdesign.com, including info about getting on the mailing list, where we pick tunes, set dates and places, etc.

Thanks to those who came for a great session. The next round should be around Feb 7th or 8th… either get on the list or drop me an email directly at bjk4929 -at- yahoo.com.

Ben,

What a cool little website! Where’d you find your graphics?

Paul.

You need to ask Aaron (Blayloch). I know him and his wife did this together.
They did a wonderful job.

clarinetwhistler-
Thanks! We do web and graphic design, so we made most of the graphics ourselves. Some of the smaller pieces started as old knotwork designs or clips from collections we own that we reworked, recolored etc.
