Searching for a tune...

Hello All,

I’ve recently been listening to Cran’s ‘Black Black Black’ album. The first set goes ‘Abbey Reel - West Clare Reel - Abbey Reel’.

I’m trying to learn the West Clare Reel but havn’t been able to find any sheet music to help me out. I’ve tried looking on thesession.org but to no avail.

Does anyone know if this tune is known by any other name?

Many thanks for any help you can give.

Richard.

It’s G version of 'Tear (or Rip) the Callico, Seamus Ennis calles it ‘A Fair Wind’ on his recording of it.

Found it! Many thanks for such a prompt response Peter!

Regards,

Richard.

That’s the one. I learnt it from Breandan O’Hare from Belfast … A colleague flute player and also chiffer took the recording from Breandan. Sure that he’s happy I write the link, It might be helpful. Lovely, rythmical tune.

Sound quality’s certainly not the best, but I can’t stand midis.

Let’s see now…it seems to work from my preview screen now…

Apparently it works now. It might have some temporary device. It’s an extract from yahoo groups. Hope it goes on now
