I was over at Clips & Snips … and I found this tune (Sean Reid’s played by Michael Eskin) particularly flattering to my ear 
Does anyone know where I can get this tune in sheet music? I tried using the ABC thing..but couldn’t get it to display music.
Also…can anyone put a name to the tune that goes by Jim’s](http://planet.time.net.my/SunwayCity/chiller/%22%3EJim%27s) Solo?
Jim’s solo? Jim? Ah. That band. Again. (Sigh.) The first piece is a reel, “The morning star”, and the second a jig, which I believe Martin Hayes calls “The banshee’s wail over the mangle pit” (meaning the fairy woman wailing over the hole in the garden in which we keep the mangelwurzels).

You might want to spend some time with the abc and related programs to find a process that works for you as it will come in handy. It took me about an hour to find a good way to get everything to work with what I own.
I use a Mac, have an old Postscript AppleLaserwriter and have found the following process best for my system:
1)Download abc file from Net.
2)Open with Barfly. it comes free at one of the abc sites. it has a split screen mode that shows you actual notes and midi feature to play tune. it also displays the tunes in a third lower screen as a list which you can select from. It plays tunes, transposes them etc etc.
If I want to make changes or isolate tunes, copy the TEXT, open new Barfly file and paste and save (sometimes I edit and that a took a while to get the hang ot).
I take saved icon of that tune or set and drag it over the top of YAPS (another free program from abc site).
that creats a postscript empty icon. I open Acrobat Distiller and create a pdf.
I open pdf, print one for me and send a copy via email to other Weekenders.
It sounds complicated but it works.The reason i go to the trouble is that I get a very crisp printed version and doesn’t make my aged printer choke. i have a new color printer sitting in a box that might print directly from Barfly, I don;t know…
It may be that you have to find something else that works. You should be able to see the printed notes though but don’t count on the immediate program to print a clean copy. From Barfly, I get sloppy giant noteheads that look like an old dot matrix printer.
The best thing about all of this is that the programs were all free as are the abc files to begin with. Total investment for any tune anyone has ever offered, editable,printable and e-mailable: $0.
If you find it at JC’s ABC tunefinder and click on the .gif option, it will give it to you as sheet music that you can save and/or print.

Sean Reid favourite is often known as Gilbert Clancy’s After Willie’s father.
The jig Bimis ag Ol is the same tune [in 6/8].
From JC’s abc tune finder (http://trillian.mit.edu/~jc/music/abc/FindTune.html) you can get printable, graphic images in either GIF format (will open in your browser) or in PDF format (will open in the free Adobe Acrobat reader). When searching, use the “Find (wide)” button for the clearest indication of the different formats.
However, the GIF format is passable but not great when printed, and JC’s PDF routine has some quirks. I find I get better quality printed output using the following steps:
Use the TXT link from JC’s results to open a window with the raw abc text.
Copy and paste that text into Concertina.Net’s "Convert-A-Matic"tool, at
http://www.concertina.net/tunes_convert.html
Click “submit.”
If necessary, return to the entry window and make any desired adjustments, such as changing where the lines break, then resubmit.
When you’re happy with the on-screen display, click the “PDF Sheet Music” button above the tune title. This will display a nicely formatted PDF version that prints beautifully, assuming you have the Acrobat reader installed.
