The great Irish flute player Seamus Tansey will give a concert in Watertown, Massachusetts (suburb of Boston) on April 12, 2008, and a flute workshop in Groton, Mass. on April 9. This will be Tansey’s first-ever solo concert in the Boston area and his first appearance in Boston in more than 30 years. Tickets for the concert are $15 in advance or $20 the night of the show. And although the Cajun accordion reference didn’t bring that to mind for me here, I think my comment still applies. If entertainment like that will be on offer when he appears in Boston, I think they’d be well justified in charging more.
