Hi,
I was wondering what people’s opinions were on Seamus Egan’s uillean pipe playing? I’ve never heard a note of his playing myself. The reason I ask is that I was browsing around the green linnet site and saw some albums he was on where it listed him as playing pipes, flute, whistle, bodhran, plus a couple others I think (maybe fiddle). I was amazed that anyone could play that many instruments well. Hey, I guess the guy might just be mega-talented. Anyway, I was wondering what people thought of him purely as an uillean piper? I’ve never heard of him mentioned much by other pipers and he hasn’t as far as I know put out the traditional solo piping album that all the “big names” seem to. Does anyone know of a website or band site that might have more info on him? Any albums where his piping features prominently? I hope that you can post replies to the list, but feel free to send me a private message with your opinions if it would help to be more candid. Thanks.
J
