A weekend of traditional music and song with classes, concerts, workshops, and a special emphasis on the tunes and style associated with West Kerry. You are welcome to join us for the February Mid term break, in Corca Dhuibhne.

Classes,Thursday - Saturday 10:00 – 13:00

In various locations in Ballyferriter – details will be given in the school on registration

There will be a particular emphasis in the classes on the tunes, styles and songs associated with West Kerry. Classes will be taught through Irish but every effort will be made to make sure no one feels excluded.

Guitar (Bréanainn Ó Beaglaoich).

Sean-nós singing (in Irish) workshops with Áine Uí Laoithe and special guests Ciarán Ó Gealbháin(Thursday), Pat Chanair Ó Conchubhair, Tom Mhaurice Ó Súilleabháin (Friday) and Seán Garvey(Saturday).

Official Opening by Matt Cranitch with music from Matt, the young musicians of Club Ceoil Chorca Dhuibhne, Colm Murphy & Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich.

(You can register for the classes at the official opening and tickets for the concerts will also be available.)

Ceann Sibéal Hotel, Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
A Lecture on Canon James Goodman and the music he collected in Corca Dhuibhne and other areas, with Nicholas Carolan and music from the piper Mick O’Brien.



Friday 22 February - 2pm Recital with Paddy Cronin

Tigh an tSaorsaigh, Ballyferriter

Music and conversation with Paddy Cronin, Sliabh Luachra fiddle player, facilitated by Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich
