Anyway, in response to your query, probably the best thing out there is still Brad Hurley’s flute page (www.firescribble.net/flute/index.html). Enjoy…but what’s this about competitions? The CCE hasn’t devoured your brain or something has it?
I’ve got an “Irish Flute Calendar” online that includes most of the major summer schools and festivals related to flute. I don’t have competitions on there, though.
Go to http://www.firescribble.net/flute/flutenews.html and you can access the calendar from there (the URL for the calendar is too long to post here; it’s one of those database-generated things). Best to view the calendar by month rather than by day.
I’d love to beef up the calendar with more tour and concert listings and would be happy to add info on other events such as competitions, but I need the info. So if anyone has addresses for sites that post schedules for such events, please post 'em here and I’ll add them to the calendar.
