So each year the local weekly paper in town does this listing of what it thinks are Salt Lake’s “Best Of’s” The topics are pretty widespead, and can range from ‘Best Irish Pub’, to Best Republi-crat’, Best Health Food store" and so on. It’s a pretty loose system , but fun and some establishments or individuals will place and win repeatedly each year.
Well, lo and behold, the humble Salt Lake Piping Club was nominated for the 'Best Uilleann Pipes Instruction" in the sate…and we WON! LOL Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Yeah, but yous guys are the ONLY uilleann piping instruction in the state!” …and your point is??? 
It’s not really an award of any consequence, but it’s fun to be recognized even so. What’s more, it was a staff pick, and not a reader (ie: fellow uilleann piper) who nominated us.
Just had to toot the horn a little. I’m off to go hang the plaque on the wall next to the llama bust and the framed thong (signed by the Chieftains).
