sailor on the rock-HELP!

Hey all,
I just went to my first whistle lesson today and it was great but a bit overwhelming- anyhow stupid me I didn’t realize it would all be taught by ear and didn’t know you are supposed to bring a tape recorder to the lessons (DUH). So my teacher taught us “Sailor on the rock” and while I have managed to hum the tune in my head all day I would like to know if anyone here has a sound file of it- I can’t remember the whole thing and of course that is no good when it comes to learning the song over the next two weeks- i found some sheet music of it but I know its not the same as the one we learned (I found two variations) anyway I am just trying to get this fixed in my head and just wondering if anyone can help me out. Thanks
-Angela

I did a quick-and-dirty recording of me playing this tune on a nickel Generation D whistle:

The first time through is at a reasonable tempo, then I play it very slowly so you can hear the notes and the ornamentation at a studyable speed.

I hope it helps. Really good reel, by the way, fun to play!

Best wishes,

It was pretty cool of you to record this for Angela, James.

It was my pleasure. I hope it helps!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! It is exactly what I needed to learn the song. I appreciate it so much! You rock my world… thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and wonderful whistle playing. Now I can work off that mp3 for the next 2 weeks before my next class. Thanks.

I was hoping this setting would be reasonably close to what your teacher plays.

I’m glad I could help–it was my pleasure.

Best wishes,
