Rudall, Rose, Carte & Co. flute for sale

Last year, I bought a Rudall,Rose, Carte & Co. silver flute on eBay which needs a LOT of repair. I stupidly thought I would have the time and talent to fix it. Anyway, before I attempt to put it back up on eBay, I am offering to sell it to any of you good people who might feel up to a challenge. It is silver with an ivory (?) embouchoure. The ivory (?) is quite yellowed and cracked thru the middle. It is the type of embouchure that is a sort of barrel that goes around the outside of the head joint tube. Head joint tenon is in rough shape, as is the lower end of the center joint and it is missing the e tonehole (the one that gets vented to sound the e). Very interesting key system, lovely engraving on the center joint barrel. The case looks original. I am sorry, but I do not know what year this flute would have been made. The barrel is inscribed “Boehm’s Parabola, Carte’s Mechanism”.

If anyone would like to see photos of this flute, please email me and I shall send them.

Any sincere offer to buy will be considered. This is, I think, a historically interesting flute and deserves to be in more capable hands than mine.

Best wishes and Happy Thanksgiving,
Elizabeth Watson
