I am going to make rubber bags. However, I am not going to glue or stich them, but plan to “weld” them (Squeeze layers together with heated pliers or so). I even though couldn´t find the right word for this procedure. In Germany it is called “vulkanisieren”. What do you call it?
My question now: Is there anybody on this forum who knows something about this and could give some hints?
www.gaitaforum.com might be the best place to post this question, many Galician craftsmen use exactly this procedure for making rubber bags.
Ive always found rubber bags to be just too ‘bouncy’, (sorry, for lack of a better word). Especially when theres a need for several levels of pressure, in Uilleann pipes.
