Did you get your chanter back yet Royce? If so, why don’t you post the internal dimensions like the size of the throat, the entire length of the bore, and the size of the bell note. I think your “experts” have had it for several weeks now.
You might have missed the point of my post on that. The chanter is being stripped entirely. Looks like now we can use all the original hardware, keys, ivory and brass ferrules and so forth.
The wood is just about rested (seasoned) post-boring and rough turning. I suppose it will be several months before what is left comes back, and at that point it will be an honored relic sans any ability to play of course. In any case, getting the chanter back is of little importance at this point as it is essentially getting reconstructed as far as the lumber goes, from scratch.

From the looks of that chanter, in the picture you posted on your web site, it looked way too short for a D chanter. I was just wondering how far off it was.
Neh, it’s something like 15" long. Or was it 15.5? Anyway, it’s way long for a D chanter.
