Roll your own.

That would be a 1974 Super Olds made F.E. Olds and Son in Fullerton Californina. A dual bore pea shooter with with 10 and 12 sided inner slides, Rose brass bell and the “silver” tone ring around the edge of the bell for added stability. Great little jazz horn. Really beautiful, tho’ mine could use a trip to Southbend for a sprucing. Was playing swing in an 8 piece the night that pic was taken.

For symphonic and quintet stuff, I use a Yamaha YSL-682G. Seamless hand hammered gold brass bell with the F trigger. Large bore. Silky, fat sound… Perfect slide.

I also have a medium bore reynolds valve trombone that I would really like to get a slide for because the bell is just super. I pull that out when I have a lesson teaching baritone or tuba students. I found it really helps them to see the fingerings as we play.

I have always liked the Kings too. A frined of mine had the one with the 2 lb pure silver bell. the b2, b1 something like that. Really sweet.

Best!
