my nauga bag keeps slowly creeping unglued. i want to rivet a piece on but am unsure what exactly to buy? i used “goop” to glue it, is there a better glue?

I mended an exploding naug bag once with wood blocks and c-clamps. Pretty randy.
i think i may have clamped it too tight and drove out the glue, not sure. i keep goin’ in with a razor blade and regluing 
i’m growing tired of it.
Check with an upholstery shop. I think they use vinyl glue on Naugahyde products.
A good grade of contact cement is what I use. After curing, I hammer the joint with a rubber mallet. I did not find Goop to be strong enough.

I was told the best contact was DAP Weldwood, with at least a week’s drying, preferably under some boards/cinder blocks.
I thought the solvents in contact cement and panel adhesive melted vinyl products.
