Any Irish musicians playing at a session in Richmond, Indiana—or close by? I’ll be in Richmond May 6-May8. I play flute and concertina, though I may not bring the concertina.
Let me know.
Thanks, David

Dayton, Ohio, 45 miles away
Jan Erik… sounds extremely Swedish.
The Dayton OH session is on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, so you will miss that one. I think that your closest one would be the Sunday evening session at the Dubliner in Cincinnati. About 65 miles from Richmond, around 90 minutes driving time.

I hear that’s a good session; Mr. Copley, you’ve been, haven’t you? Anyhoo, holler if you decide to do it; I’ll roust the Kentucky/Cincy contingent and we’ll come play with ya!
I’ll even see if I can scare up a lovely local Sligo-obsessed button box player.
Or if all else fails, let me buy you dinner. It’s the least I can do to return the favor for your fabulous welcome in Concord.
Hey Cat,
David Copley and David Levine are two different people.
You know that, right?
Sunday is barely possible depending on kids – four of whom (ours) will be at the kid’s graduation in Richmond, Ind. that weekend. I’m not sure if I can shake them.
Of course I knew that, you funny man! But on re-reading my post, I can see why it was confusing. I was cross-checking with David Copley as he’d posted earlier in the thread about the Dubliner session and he lives right down the road from it … just thought I’d get his opinion.
Anyway, sorry for the whoops. Both you Davids rock, but hey, I’m after you, babe.
Although if I can sit between you both at a session … ooh, that’d be tough.
<hee, hee>
(C&Fers: If any of y’all knew what I looked like you’d be laughing yourselves silly right about now)
One other option … it’s a bit of a haul from Richmond (Earlham, is it? Almost went there but skewed east to Miami U. instead), but I’m pretty sure there’s a Friday night session in Bloomington. One Friday a month they have a long session that goes 'til whenever; the other Fridays they quit fairly early, like, 9:30? Anyway, I think Grey L. and the gang may hang out at that one sometimes, so you guys could have flute/concertina crossover madness.
Let me know if that works for you, and I’ll be happy to get details. And of course, if you don’t mind, Larry & I will probably come up for it – we’ve been meaning to hit that session for a while, and hanging with you seems like a pretty good excuse!
You might drop Grey Larsen an email. He’s in Bloomington Indiana. I’m not sure where that is from Richmond. He’d likely know what’s around.
