Hey guys, I’m trying to decide on a new flute and I’m wondering whether I should get a PVC or splurge on a flute by Richard Cox up here in Canada. The reason I’m not going for anything else is exchange rate and shipping costs. Can anyone tell me whether the Cox is a good flute or not?
I liked it. I tried a few, and they were all decent, but in the end, I liked his “large” embouchure in dark walnut best. I think that maple isn’t a good wood for flutes.
But, they are not tunable, and although his tuning is good, you could still have problems, depending on how you blow.
So worth the price you’d say?
