Reyburn Narrow Bore Questions?

Due to some misfortune I no longer have my Reyburn hi-D whistle (the “session” version.")

After five months I’ve gotten sick of borrowing whistles at sessions (my Oak cheapies just don;t cut it.) Time for a new whistle.

I loved my old reyburn for the tone, and it was fantastic for gigging in an unamplified setting. But for some of the smaller gatherings that seem to be happening more and more, it’s freakin’ loud, and I’m not a good enough player that I need/want that much volume.

So here’s the deal - is the narrow bore Reyburn still loud enough to be audible in a session of, say, 6 people?

Is it made out of that same awesome heavy brass tubing?

thanks!

J

Wormdiet,

The Narrow bore d has good volume and in a six person session you will have no problem being heard. The wall thickness of the Narrow Bore version is less than half that of the Session model… the same as a Generation, etc…

Yup, the Reyburn narrow bore should be fine for small sessions. It’s stronger than most narrow bores.
