REVIEW: Greenwood Pipes whistle

D whistle in Cocobolo with tuning slide and delrin block by David
Boisvert (<www.greenwoodpipes.com>).

Sound: medium loud whistle, not as quiet as a Sindt nor as loud as a Copeland. Close to a Burke Pro-Session. A very responsive
whistle with a non-clogging, interestingly designed windway.

Low notes: Very strong, clear, full, hint of a reedy sound.

Across the octaves: Well balanced sound with a reduction in loudness in the high octave.

High notes: Not at all shrill with some back pressure. The sound
is always under control without a lot of power needed to sound
the notes.

Minor problem: The tuning slide was a bit loose but a beeswax/
vaseline mix solved the problem.

Aesthetics: This is one beautiful looking (and sounding) whistle -
lovely wood grain, wide brass(?) bands with grooved decoration.
Hefty sized outside diameter and mouthpiece. First class workmanship.

Maker: David is a pleasant, prompt and accommodating guy.

Overall rating: A topnotch whistle. Ranks with the best at a very affordable price especially for a wooden whistle.

Suggestion: Purchase one from David before I obtain the exclusive, world-wide rights to sell these whistles.
