Restoring an eight keyed wooden flute

Just to qualify this. We don’t do restorations as they are too time consuming. The cost of a restoration like this would be more than the value of the flute. Having said that, last year we were persuaded to do this for a friend and colleague and were happy with the results

Wow, that cleaned up nicely. Do you know who the maker is?

From memory it was “George, Edinburgh” but some of the stamps at this time were Retailers rather than makers. I suspect it is German.

It was a quiet flute when finally restored - not one for sessions and the like but nice solid tone and in tune(ish) with itself. High pitch of course.

I must say it was Bill McNaughton that must take the credit here - he was the one that restored it.
