On the theory that music is music and that the music of regular folks connects us all, I wanted to note the passing of Fritz Richmond, the spirited washtub base and jug player, perhaps best known for his work with the Jim Kweskin Jug Ban in the 60’s. He brought a smile to many a face, and I would bet that some of those faces frequent C & F. Numerous obits. can be found through this Google link:

I am still looking for a copy of Buffalo Skinners from the (first?) Kweskin Jug Band album. I understand that the underlying tune is the same as or similar to that of the tune “Amerikay” (which I hope I have spelled correctly). If anyone is aware of a a CD with that tune on it, I would be real interested in acquiring a copy.
