Ressikan Flute Video Clips

I could argue that the whistle used in “The Inner Light” was an Eb and the whistle used in “Lessons” was a D until I was blue in the face and nobody would believe me.
Rather than continue the argument, I offer definitive proof that I know what I’m talking about.
Here’s a video clip from “The](http://webpages.charter.net/raindog1970/Inner_Light.wmv%3E%22The) Inner Light”.
Here’s a video clip from “Lessons”</A](http://webpages.charter.net/raindog1970/Lessons.wmv>“Lessons”</A)>.
If anyone can play along in tune with the first clip using an Oak D (or any other D whistle) I’ll eat my Generation Eb, which is what I have to use to play along. :stuck_out_tongue:
Both clips were created with Windows Movie Maker so they are in WMV format.
Windows Media Player should automatically download the necessary codec if it isn’t already installed on your system, but if it doesn’t you can download it from the link below.

Is could still be a D whistle used to record, but it sounds in Eb now. The pitch of a recording can be changed in post-production

I downloaded them and they opened windows media player but they won’t play. It said to check the file type. suggestions?

I ran it through my sound analyzer and it does bear the marks of a sound that has had its pitch altered.

(Just kidding, but I’m sure that LaForge could have done it)

So let me see if I’ve got this right. In “The Inner Light” the whistle played is actually an Oak D but after the song was recorded, the sound was digitally pitched higher making it sound like it was played on a Eb whistle. So “THAT EXACT SOUND” does not exist anywhere except on Star Trek since Oak doesn’t make an Eb whistle and even if they did it still might not be exact since they pitched it higher from the Oak D and who knows how else it may have been tweaked. I’m sure it never crossed the producers minds on HOW CRUEL they were being to all the whistling Star Trek fans out there.
