I had a Gen D (nickel) that just was not a pleasure to play. It had a terrible habit of making annoying squeals, changing octaves without notice, just difficult to control. Having been told about the sticky tacky mod on this board, I gave it a try on the Gen. What a difference. I can’t believe such a small change could make such a big difference. It is now a pleasure to play and has become one of my favorite whistles. I think that it’s true that a bad Gen is a bad, bad whistle but a good one is a delight. Thanks to those who have passed along the tweak info.
