Renaming MP3's

I am using an MP3 recorder to record sessions. I’m using letters for the file names for example “Ge”. I have to manually change the name for each recorded track. When I want to burn them onto a CD I can rename the file to the tune name or whatever and then burn it, but there is, apparently, the name of the tune “Ge” in a header in the MP3 file. How can I change the internal name of the tune. I can rename the tune from Ge.mp3 to RightsofMan.mp3 but when I play it in Windows Media player it displays as Ge.mp3.

Thanks

Right click on the mp3 file. A box will open, right click on properties. Another box will open with two tabs. Left click on Summary tab. Change your mp3 name in the area marked Title:

Cool! I will give that a try. Thanks!

if you are using windows media player 9 or 10 or 11, you can change the ID3 tags in the “Library” section of WMP, you can’t change song names in “Now Playing” screen.

There are also many, many stand-alone ID3 tag editors. These programs are
handy if you want to do things like change the artist in several MP3s to the
same value at the same time. Here’s one:

Or you can type ID3 tag edit into Google for more.
