REMINDER... First Annual Detroit River Whistle In

You have a Thin Weasel (slobber, slobber), what more could you want? Wait, I forgot. It’s Elderly’s. Worth going just for the smell of fine instruments.

I can’t take you up on it this time-- I have a rehearsal I can’t move. But Duck, you really should go. There are never enough whistlers in that place! Have fun, Rick.

Hell, Lizzie, I happened to be passing through town and popped into the Dora Keogh session Sunday night. 'Tis no big deal.

As long as you’re not coughing, I say you’re welcome. (If you kidnap Loretto and bring her along, doubly so. )

ARGHH!!! I’ve got a wedding gig in Elora on May 31st and won’t be able to make it to Windsor on the first…so you all will just have to do this a second time! Either that, or y’all come to my cottage for a weekend of playing/beach/whatever else you can think of…

:stuck_out_tongue:

Cara sometimes we feel like the scourges of the earth lately…all so silly..no new cases in community in over 25 days..long past the incubation period, but still we hear of folks who dont want to come here or have us there…it got blown way out of proportion in the media down there, so I can’t blame folks for being afraid.

I got a big kick out of your post though.

And Colomon,…was Dora’s no big deal or coming to Toronto no big deal?

The problem is, maybe there is someone who IS concerned and too polite to say so. I would not want to ruin it for them.

Lizzie, my family and I were there the very day that the WHO came out with that warning. It was clear that they were being grossly over-cautious. Even the Center for Disease Control (CDC) here in the States did not agree with the WHO. Just by coincidence, we drove by Dora Keogh’s and I wish I had stopped in (you never know, could be a distant relative).

Coming to Toronto. Dora Keogh’s session is always fun. Debbie Quigley (hope I’m spelling that correctly) is very nice to me, and I usually bump into people who go to Goderich, too.

I spoke with Frank Edgeley, and he says he intends to be there. He’s a very good whistler, so he’ll bring his whistle and a Concertina.
Mark B: Frank says when you get the specific times finalized, send him an email directly, as he doesn’t get a chance to visit the C&F site.

Janice, if it isn’t your wedding – skip it  Or send a CD :stuck_out_tongue:

Lizzie, I have PM you and Come ON Down! :stuck_out_tongue: The paranoia of SARS is far greater than SARS itself. Not to take the disease as easy, but the health workers in Toronto did a courageous job of containing it.

Bob, I will email Frank ASAP, and that is great that he wants to be with us, he’s great musician and concertina maker.

Everybody else see the post “First annual Detroit River Whistle In” on thos board. Time and date have been finalized. Directions to the Kildare House have been reposted etc.

And for those who can’t make it this time — well we will do it again until we get it right. Heath Chantler the owner of the Kildare House is very receptive to this sort of thing and wants this type of thing to happen more often, and not just with whistlers.

See you all then!
