Personally, I wouldn’t.
Don´t buy. I know them. 
I would rather max out a credit card, or even take the risk of building my own over getting those.
hold the phone . . . I think if someone IS trying to build one of their own, why not get these and cannibalize the keywork?

Are you sure they’re Pakistani? The keys look nicely finished - one of the things I’ve noticed on Pakistani pipes is that the finish on the metal components is poor.

The detail of the reg keys is tough to make out in this photo. But, the keys on the regs above do look like they’re of better quality than any Pakistani made regulators I have yet seen… not that it really amounts to a hill of beans regarding the quality of tone.
this practice set version of this model was the one I started on. a board member bought the half set version on ebay a few months back and said he liked them.
this seems to be the ‘pretty’ pakistani set. David didn’t look at the chanter when I went over there, but he felt that the bellows and bag were much better than that of the other model, which is the one more frequently seen on ebay and the one I have as a rebuilt.
‘pretty’ allows them to charge more, but doesn’t mean it will meet your standards… silverbush was charging for that model on par with bruce (within $500)

I agree. Although their appears to be a correlation between Pakistan and poorly constructed pipes, the use of the term ‘Paki’ seems to me to indicate a perception that ‘Pakistani’ in general = ‘bad in general’ and hence not worth the respectabilities we ourselves would insist on with reference to our own ethnic labels.
Whilst not wishing to villify TexasPiper who probably doesn’t intend to communicate any sense of personal superiority as an American over people from the Subcontinent, it should be pointed out that terms such as ‘Paki’ are received among the Pakistani diaspora in the same way that Japanese take offence to ‘Nip’ or ‘Jap’, Black Americans to ‘Negro’ etc.
I’m not sure how the term ‘Yank’ is received in the US when used by non-US people, but I imagine it is capable of being used in a derogatory sense as well as being received as such. If American makers were renowned for poor quality pipes, would we outside the US be justified in making remarks such as “Those Yank pipes sold for $400!!”? I think not.

Bill, this topic has been covered so exhaustively & with so much vitriol on this forum…can we not simply agree to respect each other’s viewpoint’s on this matter, and refer the writer to a FAQ or previous discussion to decide on his own?
Uilliam,Paki is not a derogitory remark, just a shortening of a name.
I love to slag off howard pipes comments, by yourself, would appear more offensive to me than the shortening of a collective name for a race.
