i want to make better reeds for my regs, but the ones i have are plastic and not easy to get in tune. I’ve tried following a couple books, but i can’t get a crow out of the results. what are the measurements of your reeds, staple diameter, and staple length?
Have you tried cane or bronze for your slips? That may be a large part of the problem if not. What type of set do you have?
I believe it is a rebuilt set of Pakistani UPs, modified by Tim Britton. Give Tim a shout about them…I think he would have the proper dimensions.
Have you tried visiting David Daye page? There´s an image showing a chanter reed and a reg reed comparing the scrape, this is just the diference between them I guess.
the regs reeds is achieved by a flat scrape.
