REFERENCES ABOUT A MAKER

Hi everyone, I just discovered a new flute maker from Galicia (Spain) named Gonzalo Rodríguez Caride, he makes Galician Bagpipes and Flutes, I just wanted to know if anyone knows something about him, or someone has one of his flutes.

Take care!
Diego.

I don’t know anything about him or his instruments, so can’t help you there, Diego, but thanks for drawing him to our attention. His website is reassuringly workmanlike and he appears to know what he is about, making decent looking basic instruments (so far as the flutes go) and an interesting looking whistle with gaita fingering: but that is no reliable recommendation - one needs to get to try!

I have added him to The List

Hey Diego,

The Caride flute that I got from O_Gaiteiro_do_Chicago was one of the sweetest sounding flutes I’ve ever played! Everything was hand-made on the flute (the patterns on the rings and cap were all done by hand. The brass slide & sleeve were hand soldered. I really liked it, rustic and a bit primative, but done by hand!
