Reedmaking Brass Staples

Can anyone recommend a website supplying the brass tubing required for making staples?

Howard sells ready made staples but they are quite costly and I would prefer to make my own really. NPU has been out of stock for a while.

I’ve been basically reusing older staples I find but its gotten to a point where I think I don’t want to take apart anymore old reeds.

Small Parts Inc will have what you need. www.smallparts.com
I buy mine at the local hobbyshop

Any hobby shop will sell brass tubing in various diameters. It is quite inexpensive. They also sell hobbyist razor saws for cutting the tubing to length. Alternately, you could find a metal supplier and buy sheet copper or brass in .020" thickness and roll your own, but this will require also making a mandrel by filing down drill rod.
