I have a lovely recent Martin DCM guitar for sale. This is a lower end Martin with laminate mahogany back and sides and a solid spruce top. Despite being a laminate guitar, it is one of the most responsive and playable Martins I have ever tried. This guitar is better than many D-28s/D-35s that I have played! I use it entirely for Irish music in dropped and alternate tunings (I have had it anywhere from D all the way down to low B with heavy strings) and this guitar rocks with warmth and tone. The bass response is incredible but doesn’t overwhelm the mids and trebles making it great for rhythm or fingerstyle playing. I am a touring musician and I got this guitar used and have traveled with it and played it in sessions, so it is abit banged up on the top. Namely, gouges and scratches beneath where the pickguard used to be (caused by the previous owner) and the wood above the soundhole is torn and gouged (by me playing 6 string triplets;). Other than that it is very clean. I can e-mail pictures on request.
So it is not the prettiest Martin in the world, or the most expensive, but it has character, volume and punch and is a great session instrument for when you don’t want to spill beer on your $4000 Collings, etc. I am incredibly picky when it comes to guitars and I can honestly say that this instrument is perfect for trad music. I really love this guitar but I just bought a Fylde and the rent is due soon and I need the money! Comes with a hard case. No pick up or pick guard, but these can be added quite easily. $450+ shipping (I am in the U.S., Los Angeles area) Guitar retails new for around $1100. legerdemain82@yahoo.com
