ANybody have any experience with a flute made from it?
How are the maintenance and tone??

i own a b-flat flute made from australian red lancewood (approx. 1 yr. old) and i also own a d-flute in cocus (approx. 7 yrs. old). i believe the red lancewood shares similiar density characteristics as cocus and has a bit more of a ‘fruity’ sound. the wood of my b-flat flute is very very stable. i have also played a few d-flutes made from red lancewood. i was able to produce a clear solid tone, pleasing warm and strong. i would definitely consider another flute made from red lancewood. i have had very positive experiences with it and have actually developed a preference for it.
Is that good or bad?? 
kinda depends on whether you prefer fruit or nuts…
