Recordings from the weekly tune class here in San Diego

Hi y’all,

Bette Jo Garrett, one of the whistle/flute students in a weekly tune class that I co-teach, has put together a very nice website that has all the recordings of the tunes Elaine Thompson, the other instructor, and I have recorded for the students over the past year or so.

Here’s the site:

The class is every week on Thursday nights, info is on Bette Jo’s site. Visitors are always welcome if you happen to find yourself in San Diego on a Thursday night.

Now, if you happen to be here on a Tuesday, stop by the Ould Sod Pub, 3373 Adams Ave., where I co-host a session every week starting at 7 PM.

On Sundays, there is a wonderful session starting around 7 PM at The Field, located at 5th and Market in the Gaslamp district of downtown San Diego.

Enjoy!

Michael

Cool stuff. Thanks for posting that and that’s to Bette.

Rats! I thought there was finally something going on in South Dakota.

Doc

Well, that sure is nice of Bette Jo Garrett to make such a great website and nice of the teachers in the class to share their recordings. I just listened to one now and it was really nice to hear something that was slow enough so I could make out what the heck was going on but still sounded like music.

Looks like a great resource, Michael! I’ll be sure and point out the site to beginners.

Looking at all those pictures of you guys makes me homesick for some good San Diego tunes. :frowning:
Hope to see you in December,

Justine
