Recording software for Mac OS?

Can anybody recommend good software to record on a Mac with? I’m running a G3 with OS 8.6.

The standard is Audacity, which allows you to record, edit, mix, and has a few effects. Not sure if it’s still available for system 8.

Thanks, I’ll try to find it. Pure-mac.com has a bunch of music software, but it’s more oriented to MIDI stuff and mixing existing recordings.

Getting “Logic” might be a bit overkill, but I think it can only be found for macs now and it is an amazing program–very powerful.

I use Amadeus by Martin Hairer It’s basic but I often end up using it instead of Cubase SX. Oh and it’s very cheap!!

The best software will depend on your needs. For basic recording try Coaster. It’s freeware.
