Record question

Is anybody on here aware of an actual recording of the song Weile Waile? Our group performs the song a lot. Seeing as I have never in my long time of playing music come across a group or artists who has recorded that song, I wondered if there is one.

My original guess is that albums from artists like the Tannahill Weavers or Tommy Makem or the Clancy Brothers would be some of the most likely places to find it. Anybody know the answer to this?

Well, here is every song the Tannahill Weavers have ever recorded, and it doesn’t appear to be on it.

But the Dubliners recorded it on A Drop of the Hard Stuff.

The Prodigals do it

Thanks for the link and information. I wonder if anybody else out there uses this song, as in non-professional musicians and the like.

The song was first made popular by The Dubliners. Did you try putting this into Google? There are lots of hits for this.

I have it on 2 albums - The Clancy Brothers “Recorded Live The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem in Ireland!” and a version by Sandra Beech on her “Chickery Chick” album.

Sandra Beech’s web site is http://www.sandrabeech.com/launcher.htm - you’ll have to disable your popup stopper or tell it to allow popups from her page.

Check your Emails Spanish..I just sent you a version recorded by Ronnie Drew.
