Probably one of the most important things to learn while playing any instrument, is to learn when not to play. It is truly easier said than done. But using an economy of notation {and in the case of the bodhran…rhythm(s), embellishment(s), rimshots… etc.}, leads to a better sound and experience while playing alone or along with others.
