“Lost nuclear bomb possibly found”
Ivan on one side… and now, “possibly found” elderly waterlogged hydrogen bombs on the other. Cool. I’ll just go hide in the cellar now. Somebody please come let me out in time for the election.
…if the infrastructure will support one by then. 
P.S. Perhaps I posted a little hastily…the H-bomb in question was misplaced the year I was born. So it’s not elderly; just in, uh…robust middle age.

Doesn’t it just kind of make you wonder what ELSE they have lost, but neglected to let us know about? Hmmmm… 
Well, we already know they lost the Ark again. Jimmy Hoffa? 
I thought everybody knew he’s buried under the north endzone of the Meadowlands.
Didn’t the US Airforce lose a nuclear missle or bomb off of Spain, in the sixties? Don’t know if it was recovered or not. That is one story that I kind of remember also.

About 8 months ago my wife and I were out on Tybee Island where the bomb has been found. I was lucky and collected some sand dollars. I took them home dried them out and now they decorate a windowsill in my kitchen. After I read that story I looked at the sand dollars and wondered if I now have a decorative radition source in my kitchen!!
It’s the ones they don’t yet know they’ve lost that worry me.

Even more reassuring the guy who led the team that found it was on TV and said-
we found it right where at the spot where the aircraft crew said they jettisoned it, but the Air Force never looked there.
He also said that it is “unlikely” that it would explode when the government recovers it.

umm, no, I don’t remember that, but it sounds like something he would do.

Err… I don’t remember. I last saw it when I was still in grade school, and they used to run Lassie reruns on OETA. Hmm… OETA is the educational channel… I wonder how Lassie reruns are educational. They teach you not to play with radioactive materials?
Nah, they teach you how to bark when you are in trouble.
