Above the second octave, things can get very strange…And yet, some whistles remain listenable up there, if the fingerings are known. I don’t know them. Can anyone help with fingerings that work into the mid-third octave?
Cheers and thanks.

Hi Byll,
Here are the fife fingerings for the third octave. Block your ears!
D3 ( o x x x x x )
E ( x x o o o x )
F# ( x o x x o o )
G ( x o x o o o )
A ( o x x x x o )
B ( x o x o x o )
C# ( o x o o o o )
D4 ( o x x o o o )
I have found that I can get a pretty good Yankee Doodle by starting on D3 and going as high as G but anything much above that gets pretty bad!
Best wishes, Tom
Thanks, Tom…I will give it a try.
Cheers
