Here is a rare un-named German flute for only US $1,869.00!
What a deal!
…“Why no maker’s ID? I do not know, except it could have been experimental, custom, or the true maker may have deceased prior to striking a logo and maker’s name. However, there is no question that this is a vintage handcrafted instrument with excellent symmetry…”
What else could you ask for besides-“perfect symmetry”…“really old”…
“a family treasure”*, and all the mystery of an unsigned German nach Meyer flute?!!!
Maybe an all metal headjoint?!!
How do you find these great flutes, Jon?
*Oops, I misquoted the poor fellow who’s trying to hawk this, so I fixed it!
Nope, I’m still getting the “This page is no longer available” notice.
OH!
UPDATE: I see the pictures at the bottom of the page, although I’m still getting that NLA notice when I click on the picture at the top of the page. Weird!
Does look like your old flute, I like the bulletproof head. Could be an official “Ironman” flute, just need a little red accent… Probably a good player, I just like the sales pitch!
The free shipping is the clincher!
Interesting, I have an unrestored German iron man flute too. Didn’t know I was sitting on a gold mine! The “mask” is just that, an outer sleeve, to fix a cracked headjoint.
That repair just disappears on the key, what a great match…
The flute makers must have been dropping like flies, in those days! With all the unstamped flute out there, I wonder if the ghost of the maker is somehow attached to this flute?
It is a scary thought!
