What a sad loss to the music world,Wilson Pickett was one of the greats.
R.I.P Mr Pickett.

I heard of his death on NPR last night. I’ve long been a fan of his music - he was only 64…

As a guitarist, I’ve been a fan/player of the Blues all my life. “Mustang Sally” is one of the great “bar band” standards of our time. Wilson will be missed. As a side note, the great B.B. King is launching one last world tour this year, begining in Chicago. I know he’ll stop in Los Angeles, and when he does, I’ll be there…
Just finished browsing through my CDs/tapes…found 2 cds, 5 tapes…
…all the greats are leaving us…

Indeed, when it comes to giving up ‘props’ for the now departed “Wicked Pickett” it is a certainty that 99 and a half just won’t do. He’s got to have a hundred!!
And, it is likely that there is no more appropriate time to think some good thoughts to get him to his last gig than right around “The Midnight Hour.”

This caught my attention, seeing as my last name is… Wilson… So, I was worried there for a second… ![]()
One of the greatest, no doubt. His music always lifts my spirits.
I will forever appreciate the gift, of his music, which he left behind for us all.
Thanks Wilson! Enjoy the last gig.
