Quick Question

How do you cross-finger F-nat?
I have tried half holing, but hear next to no difference no matter how slowly I lift my finger.

Only reason I ask is because the hymn I am trying to play is in F major, and it sounds a bit odd on a D whistle. I will be getting a C whistle, and a Generation Bflat soon, so that might help.

I’ve discovered how much fun WhOA is…

I am a beginner but I am not aware of a way to cross finger F nat. I have done very little half holing, but when I half hole the second hole up I do get something between E and F#. It took me a few tries to see how to do it. I didn’t open the hole up as much as I expected—I just sort of tip my finger back. The quality of the sound is different. I wonder if you are opening the hole too much? From E to the half holed sound did sound like “ti do”, so I reckon that must be F natural I’m getting.
