Hi there, concerning the fact that the hole on the seery flute are big … does it allow to reach half notes, accidentals more easily ?

Maybe it’s just me, but I find it easier to half-hole accidentals on flutes with smaller toneholes.
The large toneholes are really more to make the flute louder and more “open” sounding.
I find both the Seery and the Hamilton (both Pratten-style) flutes to be fairly easy to half-hole.
Using cross-fingering (“forked fingering”) for accidentals doesn’t work well on either flute, but that’s what you expect from a large-holed flute.

and how about accessing 3rd Octave on the seery ?
Not long ago I posted a comparison where I played a tune in the 2nd and 3rd octave; the Seery was one of the flutes I recorded.

The Seery has a reasonably easy 3rd octave for a simple-system flute.
