They were launching it in the Old Ground Hotel in Ennis last week (or is it next week, I wasn’t really paying attention). I heard some on Clare Fm I think.

providence line up has changed a lot since their last release,they now feature michelle o’brien on fiddle,troy bannon on flute and cyril o’donoughue on bouzouki and vocals (as well as old band members paul doyle on gtr and michael o’reilly on concertina). just received a copy from cyril a month ago,i think is a lovely recording,very different from previous,they have a bolder sound.
i think cyril adds something important and good to the the band as they now have a great singer.i did like a lot old providence albums but i’ve always skipped songs!!

Micheal O’Raghallaigh is prob one of the best Concertina players in this moment, I have also hear that Solas and…Danù are preparing for a new cds, am I wrong? as you may understand I have spent few hours listening The Late Session on RTE radio on the web…
a lot of Good music on internet…

Sharon Shannon, Mike McG and Frankie gavin (I forget the guitarplayer’s name)are playing Glor in Ennis this week (month?)

Fresh from the release of her new album in March 2005, Sharon’s notorious live performances will showcase a host of new material and no doubt, countless old favourites. Sharon’s new album features Frankie Gavin, Mike McGoldrick and Jim Murray. The material is mostly traditional Irish with a smattering of traditional Asturias tunes, some newly composed Scottish tunes and some newly composed tunes by each of this talented quartet.
