Protective case for low d's?

I recently bought a Burke Viper, but would like to be able to transport it in a secure way.

Does anyone have suggestions? (I’m usually not too kind to my luggage, which means a case should be able to recieve a few rough hits, and still protect the whistle)

Here’s a few off the top of my head. Probably more out there.

Hope that helps!

I bought a protective cylinder for diplommas and such things - it´s very cheap, and pretty durable

Got any interesting links? and how padded are those?

I used a pool cue case - it’s perfect! You can get them on eBay fairly cheap… I have since sold the Viper (in favor of the flute-end of the spectrum).

Make your own out of PVC pipe from the hardware store. Use a screw-on plug for one end and a glued-on cap for the other. Line the tube with thin foam from a craft store. The hardware store will also have special PVC paint in a variety of vibrant colors so you can paint it, if you wish. Use schedule 40 pipe (the most common kind) and it will be cheap and virtually indestructable.

You can use a cardboard tube like they have at the post office, too. Perhaps if you sew up a cover for it out of old jeans or something it’ll look actually nice. You could do that for PVC pipe or whatever else, too.

I also recommend a pool cue case. I bought one at Sports Authority for 10 bucks. Works nicely.
