I notice that when I use the quote function and organize a response to a topic thread, I don’t get the normal full preview when I ask for it on the button below the screen. Instead, what I get is a screen with the HTML codes. Previously, I would get a final page as it would appear without the codes. It is hard to know whether we have the HTML correct if we cannot see a final version of the page in the preview mode prior to submitting the post. I am using an Internet Explorer browser with XP.
Thanks for your help, Denny. In the user control panel, on editing posting defaults, I have “yes” to enable BBC code, which is the default postion. However, when I attempt to preview this post, I don’t see what the final submitted post will look like. I see all the codes, contrary to what I saw in the past. I am not able to see the final page until I actually press the submit button. I can edit it, of course, but I would like to make revisions before I actually pressed the submit button.
When I press the quote tab at the bottom of a post that I would like to reply to and then indicate that I want to post a reply, I receive the quoted passage in the coded format. This is no different than what I was getting before. When I made comments to the quoted passage and then pressed the preview tab below the screen, I saw the quotes in boxes, just as it would appear on the final submitted screen. When I did this to the above post and then pressed the preview tab, this is what I see:

In my mind, that isn’t a preview screen. It is a duplication of my first screen. I see that I can’t use this example because the submitted example is in final boxed format while my preview screen had all of the "
codes.
And that example didn’t show what I had intended either.
